Cincinnati Chili
  • 1 1/2 Quarts cold water
  • 2 # ground beef
  • 2 C crushed tomatoes
  • 1 yellow onions-- diced
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 T Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 T unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/4 C chili powder
  • 1/2 t cayenne pepper
  • 1 t ground cumin
  • 2 T cider vinegar
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/4 t ground cloves
  • 1 t cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 t salt
  1. add beef and water to lg stock pot
  2. bring to a simmer while stirring until the ground beef is in very small pieces
  3. simmer for 30 minutes
  4. add the remaining ingredients
  5. simmer on low, uncovered, for 3 hours
  6. add water as needed if the chili thickens
