Shrimp Cocktail
for the shrimp
  • 2 T old bay seasoning
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1 t granulated garlic
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 t chili powder
  • 1 t salt
  • 24 extra large raw shrimp

for the cocktail sauce
  • 1/2 C chili sauce
  • 1 C ketchup
  • 1 T horseradish
  • 1 dash Worcestershire sauce
  • juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1/2 t hot sauce
  • 1/2 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 T cilantro
  1. mix all the cocktail sauce ingredients in a small bowl and refrigerate
  2. prepare large bowl of ice water
  3. to a 8 qt pot of water, add the shrimp spices
  4. bring to a boil
  5. add the shrimp
  6. return to boil and the shrimp should be done
  7. immediately drain and place the shrimp into the ice bath
  8. peel the shrimp
  9. drain and serve with sauce
